Pokemon 球 Gaming Table

Date:  Sep 12, 2016

Both me and my wife joined the PSG (Parent Support Group) for our son’s primary school.

Getting involve with the school seems like a good thing to do, where you can re-live the primary school life, and get to know the primary school life in Singapore.  It does not takes a lot of time for a year, but some times can be fun.

Like making this Pokemon ball gaming table for the school’s Children Day celebration.

In fact, you can easily make this at home.

So, the game has to be easy to play.

Not too complicated to design.

So, we thought of making Pokemon as a theme.

And we get our children to put on their thinking hat.

And of course the labour work later from them.  hahaha

Go to Art’s Friend to buy this foam board.

IMG_3947.jpg

It should be this thick.

IMG_3950.jpg

Get the foam balls too.  It should be this size.

IMG_3949.jpg

Take a bowl from the kitchen, and start drawing circles.

IMG_4980.jpg

This job is easy.  Drawing circles.

Even Jay can do it.

Design the circle location properly.

IMG_4974.jpg

You need foam cutter to cut the foam.

Children cannot do this, as the foam cutter is very high temperature.

IMG_4975.jpg

Make sure you make big enough hole to fit the foam balls.

IMG_4978.jpg

It’s definitely not a quick task here.  Because the foam cutter need to rest as there are so many holes to cut.

IMG_4981.jpg

Need patience.

We draw and cut the circles in rows of alternate 4 and 5 circles.  That will ensure higher chance of getting the ball inside.

IMG_4987.jpg

So, the aim of the game is to throw the ball into the hole and match the colour.

IMG_5002.jpg

Next task is easy, as you need to paint the board and the balls.  So, it is good to get a reference book so that you painted it exactly as it shows.

Wah, so many balls, let’s paint only the Poke Balls and the Great Balls.

Sometimes you also want to get lazy a little bit.  hahaha

IMG_4990.jpg

Let’s get to work.

IMG_4994.jpg

It’s a team work.

And we make this for the school.

We make this for the children.

IMG_5006.jpg

The Poke Balls…

IMG_4992.jpg

The great balls…

IMG_5001.jpg

The colour matching holes.

Poke balls goes into red holes and Great balls goes into blue holes.

IMG_5007.jpg

Highlight the balls.

IMG_5032.jpg

And it is done.  Hahahahaha

IMG_5033.jpg

We tested it too.

IMG_5026.jpg

Not to mention the packaging too.

IMG_5038.jpg

Let’s play balls.
