Today is the first time I go and see their Live Video. They do this every day from 9:30am until sold out or 1pm.
You have to add / follow them on facebook. And just click on the Live Video.

https://www.facebook.com/@gmseafood.my
My friend Claire has told me about them, and I have helped Claire to transfer Malaysia Ringgit to them for her purchases of seafood a couple of time.
So, I was at home, and I saw the Live Video Link, so I went in and take a look.
This guy seems to be the boss of GM Seafood Wholesales. And the lady behind should be marketing girl.
Since you are in their Live Video, they can see everything. They see you joined in, they see your message if any.

When they started, they will show you the seafood and grab it, let you see how fresh it is, and the sizes, etc.
Then they will tell you the name of the seafood they are selling, and we are bidding. Usually they will have a code, such as A3+?.
For example, they will tell you this is 500g per box. And there are 12-16 prawns inside. And they will show you the prawns has the eggs inside. Then, they will share with you each 500g, the market is selling RM52. And then, they reveal how much they will sell. whcih is RM24.80 per box (i.e. 500g)
So, with your quick fingers, once they should “START BIDDING”, you bid how many boxes you want.
If you want 2 boxes. You message them with your quick finger “A3 + 2”. i.e. I want A3, the jumbo white sea prawnd 500g x 2 boxes.

Almost immediately, you will get a PM in your Messager, the following message.
I have successfully book 2x boxes of this. So, it is RM49.60 in total.

So, they keep on bringing out the fish, if you like it, you bid. I bought 4x of this Ma You fish.

The Parrot Fish is really nice. I want it, but too bad, my finger is so slow. I did not manage to bid it.

Then, they come up with bigger one i.e. 600g. Each of it is RM 7.

So, you just stay in front of this Live Video watching every one of them and decide to bid or not bid.
Since this is the first time I bid, I think let’s go easy, but small things first. Because I also not sure if it is that fresh or not.
So, this is what I bought. And because I bought so little, it is subjected to delivery fee. Which is RM 83 about SGD$25 like that. If you buy enought, they will give you free delivery. As said, this is my first time, I just let them delivery la.

Then, you message them to add up every thing ask them how to pay. Ask them to convert to SGD too if you are doing paynow in Singapore. For me, as I have Malaysian bank acct, I just do a DuitNow la to the RHB bank.

Must sent them the bank reciept to confirm purchase.

Once they received the money before 5pm, they will promise to sent the fish to you the next day 7am-10pm.
Unfortunately, this happens….
Next day, Oct 10, I received a door bell ring ring to open the lift at my condo.
I answer the phone, and ask “Who is it?”
A not so fluent English answered back “Food Delivery”.
I was like “What? we never order food? At this hour? who are you???”
No answer.
Then, I go toilet, and during that time, my helper wake up and answer the door bell.
I saw the box, and then I immediately realiase is not food delivery, it is seafood delivery.
At 4:40am in the morning. So I am guessing, their derlivery truck must have cross the causeway during off peak hour. And I am the first delivery as I live quite close to BKE bah…
Of course I blasted messages to them to complaint about this… They took in the feedback and tell me they will tell the driver not to do so, must follow the 7am-10pm delivery time. hahaha

Let’s look at the seafood. A lot of ice to keep it fresh.
So, my facebook friend asked how can It be fresh if the fish already dead as shown in the video. So, I answered him this way… Fishermen caught the fish, and the fish already dead and they put it in big ice freezer. Few days later, the fish already died for few days, the fishermen boat came back. Then, they start selling. The boss see the seafood then decide where it goes… some goes to local market, some goes to Singapore market, some goes to wholesales market. So, imagin, you buy from Singapore market, the fish also delivered the same way to that market. Then, you buy the fish, and keep it in your freezer.
So, what is the difference of them instead of sending it to singapore market and you buy from the market, they sent the fish to you directly to your home. and you store the fish in your freezer. Is this more fresher?
Think about it.
Ok, I am going to show you the seafood I bought and what we cook with it.
This is the Ang Chor. 红皂. I don’t know what fish. So I google on the web, and show my helper how to cook it.

Let’s steam it!

Nice steam fish.
The fish is 600g and it is perfect for me and my helper. The fish is fresh!!! definitely fresh and sweet. Love it.

I bought 2x boxes of this super jumbo prawns. About 1KG and it is only < RM50.

Let’s steam it too….

WOW! It is definitely very fresh. As my helper says. At first she was telling me she can buy from downstairs market. I told her the price… and she says very cheap.
The prawns is so delieious too. And my helper says very FRESH!!!!!

And I asked her how about this… wahahahahahaha the prawns eggs inside… I don’t dare to eat so much, so I gave all the prawn heads to her… wahahaha

Few days later, we cooked the Ma You fish. (马友)

So, my helper deep fried the fish.

And you eat it with rice and soya sauce + chilli padi.

It is still FRESH!!!!! very sweet, nice to eat….
delicious…

OK, that’s it for this blog entry. Now you know there is a choice… buy it from Market or buy it online from JB. Of course, you can bid for the fish and then, go directly to Mt Austin to pick it up too.
Oh ya, one more thing. If some fish, they cannot move it (sell it)… they can decide to DROP PRICE again, and once they do that, every one buys and it get sold out too. So, it happen to me on the blue tail prawns, I bid for it and there are still stocks left, then they declided to reduce another RM5 and it got sold out within seconds.
So, for experience buyer, they are waiting for this moment to show case their fast fingers lor.
Also, for some rare fish, the Grade A sotong, the shark meats, etc… can also sold out very fast within 1-2 seconds.
So, it is a online bidding ya….

The following week, I ordered again.
I also donate some to charity. You can see their facebook pages, and they often bring such donations to all kind of charity group. Orphanage, old folks home, chinese or Malays, etc etc.
I dontated 10x D1 this time. Total 40KG of small fish. Only RM150 for donation la. OK la. Donate more, so do good deed all the time.

Finally, Shark meat. I bought myself 1KG, and donated 2KG away.
The shark meat price was reduced from RM40 to RM11.

The fan scallops. I bought this too.

How we cook it?

First, we steam some to try. The scallops is very fresh, as what my helper says, “smell like from the sea”.
Oh ya, I also bought the FISH BALLS. It is so nice. Very tasty.
So, we put in the scallop with shells, fish balls, and the blue tailed prawns we bought last week. And cook pasta with it, put lots of cheese.

It was so tasty…

Whats the verdict from this kid?

Of course he says very good. Judging from the speed he eats, I can tell.. it is very delicious. Because the ingredients are fresh.
Look at the stingray, so big. I bought 2KG. and donate 1KG away.

They will clean it for you, cut it for you, removed all the inedible parts, and freeze it for you for delivery.
How shall we cook the first stingray.

Of course you cook it with A1 Fish curry paste. And It turn out to be fresh and tasty and very very meaty.

Yummy….
Wah… I also bought 12x cans of this Abalone. I think very nice.

One can is RM 16.80 only. That is why I bought 12 cans.

Last week the prawns was so good. The one with a lot of prawn egges in the head.
That is why I bought another 2 boxes.

And how you can can cook that again?
I used my super duper Tomyum paste that I bought from Otogo market. Then, put in the dried ingrediets for tomyum. Lemon, lemongrass, blue tailed prawns, fish sauces, etc etc. wah…

Look at it… tasty tasty, yummy…
Here are some more example… from time to time I like to watch their live video and fast forward…

Good thing must share… hahaha
