Celebrating My Mom 87th Birthday

Very impromptu, me and my elder sister and her family came in to JB to celebrate my mom’s birthday. Of course my mom is very happy too.

Let’s see what we eat today. Of course, at her favorite restaurant. Empurau Seafood and Chicken Rice Restaurant at Mid-Valley South Key, JB. This is my mom’s favorite restaurant, she only eat two things here.. The Hong Kong steam wild live Soon Hock and the claypot egg plants. Today we decided to have more people and order more variety of food.

The dim sum is really not bad here.

芋角. The chef is Hong Kong chef. They love it.

The 小笼包 and 糯米鸡 is very Hong Kong style. They love it too.

Today got 大沙白 Lala. I choose to cook with 上汤. WOW!!! The sweetness in the soup it is very nice. Tasty. And the Lala meat is so fresh so tender.

The Bak Kian… OK nia.

Here comes the Hong Kong Steam wild live Soon Hock. I told my sisters this is probably the best place to have REAL wild live Soon Hock. This Soon Hock is about 1kg big and the price is RM290. But this Soon Hock is very very good.

My second sister argued with me says the Peking Restaurant one also wild live Soon Hock, very nice too. I think she has not tasted the best of the best Wild Live Soon Hock yet. So, I told her, I been to Peking Restaurant 2 times, ordered the so called Wild Live Soon Hock there, also asked both time, is the wild live soon hock really a wild live not breed one… Peking Restaurant says yes it is. But both times, I tasted the so called Wild Live Soon Hock in Peking Restaurant, but time it disappointed me. The meat is smushy mushy one.. how can it be Wild Live. But the Wild live Soon Hock from this Empurau Restaurant, I have eaten at least 10 times in this restaurant, I can say it is tasty, sweet, and chewy. It is definitely Wild Live Soon Hock. hahaha

The restaurant owner also tell me same. I told him, I just bought 2x Wild Live Soon Hock yesterday. But I bought 600g small size one from GM Wholesale Seafood in JB online. They delivered the fish the next morning. And he asked me if the fish I bought is straight one or arc arc one.

So, I show it to him. He says, was, so cheap!!!!!! See the fish is straight straight one.

So, I asked my helper to cook it next day. And the fish turn out to be chewy too. Very nice quality of wild live Soon Hock.

OK, back to my Mom’s birthday meals.

Of course, we must order the Kampung Chicken. And yes, the Singaporeans (my brother in law, niece and nephew) all says very nice.

They love the fried Spinach.

My favorite. Salted Eggs or Duck Eggs Bitter Gourd. Hahahaha Very nice.

They have a new menu item. I asked them what is those chicken??

They say is fire chicken. It is a new dish.

So, we ordered it too. Yeap, second chicken dish.

It is a fried chicken, but they finished the dish with firing it outside.

Wow.. we ordered so much food. And the total bill come up to be RM820. WOW… around SGD$250. I think if we do this in Singapore, it will cost me more than SGD$500 like that.. wahahahaha

We even got time to shop for our Oriental Kopi tibbits… Best seller items…

So every one is happy…
