2.  Ability to Focus

The key to study is to focus.  If you can focus, you can score.  But because there are a lot of distractions around, i.e. TV, iPad, Nintendo, etc.  The ability to focus will change because of these distractions.  It is said that, once you are focus, you can accept all the knowledges of the world.

3.  Ability to Socialise

Hahaha, I think both of my kids has achieved this.  You can put them any where, and they be able to make friends, not only friends of same levels, but different levels too.  Some times the teacher treat this as talkative.  hahaha

4.  Planning Capability

In order to plan, you need to be an organised person.  You need to know all your routines, and plan everything before hand.  Judging from their outgoing bags, you will know.  Kay’s bag always full of surprises.  Jackets to keep warm, touch light in case there is no light, wet tissues, etc etc.

5.  Ability of Self-Learning and Initiative

When you come home from school, no need your parents to ask, you take out your text book and revise, you do your homework on your own, etc.  I guess I must give a full mark to Jay on this.  As for Kay, he is still learning.  From the task list until now, I think he has accomplished quite amazingly.  But still, a little too much distractions else where.

6.  Self-Confidence

It is not easy to train up one’s self-confidence.  If you compare the homework, of course, you might end up losing confidence easily.  So, you got to build the self-confidence from else where.  Achieving 1st and 2nd Poom, going into 3rd Poom in Taekwondo is a self-confidence.  Representing school in badminton competitions is another.  Learned how to programs in Pythons.  Can play Golf well.  Learn to play “Go”.  These are all the extra activities that you can train up your kids.  Increase their self-esteem, and make them feel good, and confident.

7.  Ability to Praise

This is an interesting one.  Never thought of it before until I read this.  This is true, if you can learn how to admire and praise some one, that is the beginning of building friendship.  I have not seen these qualities from my kids yet.  May be I have never train them to do so?  From now on, I think let’s put this into the training program.  hahaha

8.  Leadership

Leadership training does not come easy.  During their Primary School years, I think it is hard to exhibit it.  But one correct concept is do you know how to lead yourself?  If you can lead yourself, then, you should be able to lead others.  Leading is not shouting at them, it is to make others to appreciate your work, and look up to you.  That’s is not easy in todays Primary School.  Perhaps, wait until Secondary School, then you can learn all these.

9.  Integrity & Keep to Promise

I think I have to give both my kids full marks on this.  Well, it is not because they are born to be like this.  But under my roof, this is one of the most important thing the kids need to follow.  To have integrity, do not lie to parents, do not lie to others.  Once you keep a promise, you do not break it.  Since very very young, I canned my kids if they break this rule.  Simply because I strongly believe in this.

10.  Independent Thinking

This is to have your own mind, your own thinking and do as what you want to do.  Sometimes it is very dangerous for kids so that they do not over doing it.  But it is good think if they can think of themselves, and not simply blindly follow whatever parents say.

11.  Resilience & Strong Will

Still need to train both of them.  Some times when they fail, you see tears in their eyes.  One should not cry when you fail, as failure is our teacher.  They have a long way to learn.
