Unboxing
This is a board game released via Kickstarter. I bought mine from MPH bookstores in Malaysia.
I like this game, because it is a quick game. It can be played by 2-4 players, and the game can always finished within 15 minutes. It is a strategy game, that involves getting the most points, blocking people (killing the space ship), making decisions on whether to get the nebulas or planets. It is like a chess game, and also like a Go game. It’s fun!
It comes with the game board tiles which is the space universe. As you can oriented differently each time you play, so, each time, you will have a different space galaxies to conquer. It also comes with the plastic space ship, trading post & colonies in 4 colours for 4 players.
Learning to Play the Game
Of course there will be many tutorial or videos made available on youtube for you to learn about the game before you play it. My kids are watching one of the video and learn about the game.
After watching this video, my kids already know how to play. Because it is very easy.
Every turn, you just need to do two things.
- Move your space ship.
- Place your colonies or trading post. (That’s it)
The games end when all players cannot move their space ship any more.
When you move your space ship, you must move
- In a straight line. In any direction.
- You can jump over/move over your own colony (Planets that has your colonies, or Nebula that has your colonies.
- You cannot jump over/move over other players’ colony. (You are blocked).
- You cannot stop at any occupied space (colonised planets or nebulas).
- You cannot jump over/move over a black hole.
Of course, if you need, you can watch more of the tutorial, from different people. This is another video to introduce the game.
I also found another one that is useful too. After watching all three videos, you will have 100% of know-how how to play. It is that easy.
My kids love it.
Very easy to play. The more you played the more experience you are, and the more strategies you will place.
So, every turn, you keep moving your ship, and you establish your colonies.
Every game is different as the game board keep changing.
Of course, the older the wiser. I win by huge margin la. But I am very sure, in next few days, they will catch up.
The box says it is suitable for age of 13+. But, my son who is 8 years old and 10 years old can play. 🙂
I think my family started to become very nerdy. Playing board games before sleep. Hahahaha
