I bought a new Kindle for Kay Kay. He was using the 1st generation Kindle. It is time to change a new one.
Kay Kay has been reading a lot of books lately, and I have been buying a lot of hard copies for him. From now on, with this Kindle, I think I will just buy fewer hard copies, and I also got the time to bring them to library nowadays to loan the books.
Let’s take a look at the new Kindle Oasis.
I placed the Kindle side by side with Jay’s Kindle Paper White (not so white compared to Kindle Oasis). The screen size is somewhat similar, but the bezel is slimmer.
I ordered an extra cover with battery. The cover itself is the battery. But the leather cover looks high quality.
If feels nice in my hand.
And when you detach the cover+battery from the Kindle Oasia, it looks like this.
And it is slim. And light.
The menu is somewhat different. The start up page now needs an additional click on “My Library” to see all your books.
You can hold the Kindle Oasis in one hand (right hand) and then, press the button to go up or down. So, it is really a one-hand device.
70% is slimmer. Except the edge where they need to fit the power button as well as the USB port there.
Here, you compare the Kindle Oasis with the Paper White. It is lighter, and it is much slimmer.
You have a choice of holding it in your hand. You can use it with the cover or without it.
And surprisingly, the whole thing can easily fit into my pants pockets. And you can carry thousands of books with you.
For me, I still like to read book this way. I can read it on the Kindle app running on my iPad. But iPad is simply too big and too heavy. Me using the Kindle is just fine.

And I have use it on various airplane. And they seems not stopping people using Kindle during the flying time.
