Last week, both Jay and Kay had a great time at the Singapore Badminton School competition. This is the first time that Singapore Badminton School organised Internal Grading as well as badminton competitions. Yes, you hear correctly, now they have grading. Just like Taekwondo. I seriously don’t know what grading.. but I was told is the way how you smash, your stamina, etc etc.
So, Jay paired up with his buddy to take on #4 seed of the competition.
I think depends on the lucky draw lor that they have to meet the top 4 player pairs. hahaha So, it was easy match for them to defeat Jay and his partner. Hahaha…
But I enjoyed watching them play.
Later on, Jay need to umpire a match. So, the school give them a lot of chance to do all sort of things. hahaha
The match was held at SUTD. The training place for Singapore Badminton School.
It is lunch time. And SUTD is a technology university, no wonder there are so many high tech thingy here.
A Pizza vending machine.
Wow… I am impressed.
The 10″ Pizza costs only S$7.50 nia.
The taste of the Pizza is good.
OK, Jay starting his next match 2pm on last Saturday.
And I knew he has tried all his best.
But you know la, the biggest enemy is yourself. Why?
Because he is balloted to play #1 seed in Junior Boys on his first match. And sadly, got defeated 30-15. hahaha
But it was good experience for him.
My younger son is up on last Sunday.
Again, this is probably the first time for Kay playing Single match. So, his first sentence is “Aiya, I will sure loose one la…”
“Boy, have not play and already say lost????”
Now, let’s give some pet talk.
And since he got a better luck, first match is not seeded player.
He gave everything, chase every single ball. So, he won 30-8 on the first match.
And then, he is so happy because his bother lost both games. And he won his first ever Single match. hahaha
Next an hour later, he faced a bigger and taller player.
He has improved quite a lot.
He gave out every thing.
But he also made a few unforced errors.
But the older boy is better in placing the shuttle.
He tried to smash some shuttles.
He able to reach to the netball.
Really jump up smash if he could.
After I took so many photos, then I realise how serious he is. look at his eyes.
You could tell from his eyes, how serious he is towards the game play.
He played everything correctly.
Jump and strike on every chance he has.
Chase every single shuttle he could.
But loses too many points in the beginning.
And eventually… he lost.
He lost 21-30 to the older boy. hahaha Good fighting spirit Kay!
I can feel he has now more confidents towards the play.
The kids enjoyed the games. And they will come back again during November time for the next competition for SBS.
