Jay’s badminton class has two training location. Whenever, it is at Clementi, I will have a comfortable seat at the entrance there, where I usually will play my games while waiting for the kids. The other location is the Unity Primary school (ya, the school that use rabbit mascot to greet P1 students in 2017). But the badminton court at Unity Primary school is a bit small, so, I usually will not be there to watch over them.

Earlier this week, Aiden’s daddy has booked some badminton count and I get the chance to play with the kids. And I found out why Jay has not been improving all along.
He is about 55KG.
So, he tends to be lazy.
So, when you are lazy, you fixed your feet at the ground.
That is bad. Because, you tends to try to return all the shuttlecock from where you stand.
So, all his returns are very high to the ceiling.
It is a simple fix for him.
He has to jump jump jump, with the foot work.
Move with a small tempo and hit the ball. And some how, he managed to hit the ball well, his reflex become better. And most importantly, you don’t hit the shuttlecock high up in the sky.
And with his strength, he is able to return the shuttle strong.
Now, with his shuttle return closer to the net, it will be very beneficial to him.
So, now, he is ready to learn his smash. Every day, I want him to try to squat and jump.
Good work Jay!!
The young one still young. So, I will give Kay some time to have fun first.

Badminton is s a good sport.
I don’t want my kids to have pressure to get any prizes or win any competitions.
The main objectives for this sport is 1) to keep fit and become more healthy 2) to have a CCA that no need to come back to school so often. 3) if can boost self-esteem is a plus. 4) makes more friends. Being friends with people who playing badminton will likely adapt to their friends fitness lifestyle.
