Do you know what is this?

It is a color paper, using pen knife to cut into strips then laminate it.

This is my secret weapon to learn Chinese.

Why?

Take a look.  Nowadays, for P1/P2 the story always comes with Hanyu Pinyin.

Even text book.

So, If you ask the kid to read it to you, they can read and may be not so fluently, but they can read every word and some of these new words, their pronunciation may be a bit off bit, but they can read.

But really, can your kid read it?

To find out, you do this.

And all Hanyu Pinyin are covered.  So, ask them to read again!  And as predicted, many words they do not know how to read.

Because when there are Hanyu Pinyin beside the chinese character, they tends to read the Hanyu Pinyin without memorising it.

So, using this method, my Kay Kay has improve in learning more Chinese words and he is forced to learn the words by hard, without Hanyu Pinyin assistant.
