Kiasu Parents posted the following to discuss about why kids should play sports.

I think it is very important to sent kids to sports they like.

Kay Kay is in red belt now.  The next grading will be tested on four patterns, where three of them are the one they have learned before.

For a 7-years old to remember all four and without getting confuse, is not easy.

Last week, they teacher wrote down “Listen to teachers!” on his red belt.  The teachers want him to focus in class, and learned the stance and punch properly.

Last Sunday, in his 2nd  pre-grading seminar, his teacher wants me to arrange a 1-on-1 private lesson so that they can make sure his stance and punch in all four patterns are correct.

He was a bit sad.  But this is life that he needs to learn.  You can never get perfect all the time.  Especially, when you are learning at such a young age.  But luckily, he overcome its fear to fail, and did a lot more practice at home, and after the private-lesson, he got a node from the teacher (getting his black tape for T7 pattern as well as the T4, T5 and T6 patterns).  So, he is ready to take the grading in 3 weeks time.

Now is all about practice and practice and practice.

I sent him to Taekwondo, swimming and badminton for sports for now.  And he really enjoys every moment spent in these sports.
